About this course
Python Basics introduces the fundamentals of Python 3, including conditional execution and iteration as control structures. You learn to work with core data types such as strings and lists, and develop practical programming skills by creating drawings and building debugging abilities.
The course uses a visual, hands-on approach. You will write code that produces drawings, which helps reinforce how loops and conditionals produce visible output. Debugging exercises are built into the module so you learn to read error messages and fix common mistakes without leaving the browser.
By the end of the module you can write short Python scripts that accept user input, process text, and manipulate simple data structures. You will also be able to trace the flow of a program using Boolean logic and iteration, skills that transfer to any language you learn later.
