Career as a Cyber Security Analyst

A typical day includes monitoring security alerts, investigating false positives, patching vulnerabilities and documenting incidents. Analysts use tools such as Wireshark, Splunk or the SIEM platform their employer provides. They report to a Security Manager or Team Lead and often work in rotating shifts to cover 24‑hour operations.

Qualification route in India

A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field is the most common starting point. Many analysts then earn industry certifications such as CompTIA Security+ or the EC‑Council Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH). Some employers accept candidates with a diploma and proven practical skills, but a degree opens more doors, especially in larger organisations.

Which courses help

Online courses add practical skills and certification preparation on top of a degree or licence.
