Day to day this is briefs, concepts, layout and revisions: social creative, brand identity, packaging, print and increasingly motion. Most of the job is judgement about hierarchy and type, executed in Adobe or Figma.

No licence and no fixed degree — hiring is almost entirely on portfolio. Design degrees help with fundamentals and networks; self-taught designers with strong portfolios compete fine.

The highest-return additions are the ones that widen what you can sell: motion graphics, UI design, illustration, and enough brand strategy to explain your choices to a client.
